Hosptality Action Dinner at Manchester House

On Wednesday 9th March, Chef Tom will join his former Head Chef, Tom Aikens, at Manchester House to cook one of eight courses at a tasting banquet to support Hospitality Action. Also on the bill are Aiken’s protégés Lee Westcott, Vicky Endersen, Dan Smith and Roger Hickman.

Hospitality Action was set up in 1837 as a charity to aid those who work, or have worked, in the hospitality industry and find themselves in need of support. They offer assistant and advice across an enormous spectrum of crises including addiction, homelessness and relationship support.

The charity will receive £100 of every ticket sold. David Walker, Chairman of Hospitality Action’s Northern board, said: “We are hugely grateful to Aiden for using his contacts to pull together what promises to be an unforgettable event for food lovers.

“It’s not often you get the opportunity to sample a meal cooked by seven separate chefs of such calibre, whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for charity.”

The Next Chapter

After a well-deserved Christmas break, a lot has been happening at Story this week. The menu has been restructured with added inspiration taken from our time out of the restaurant. As well as this, our team have received specialist training in order to refine and develop their skills. It’s looking as though 2016 might be our best yet.

A truly remarkable year

At Story, we often feel as though we have a lot to celebrate: we have a brilliant team, create world-class dishes and love the customers that we serve. Being a particularly ambitious bunch, we also strive to make an impact in the wider world too.

This is why we’re pleased to say that this year we have achieved even more than ever before. In 2015 Story was awarded four AA Rosettes, regained its Michelin star, came 13th in the Sunday Times ‘Restaurant of the Year’ and 3rd in the OpenTable ‘Restaurant of the Year’.

As usual, we are closing over the Christmas break so that everyone in the team can recharge and come back fighting next year. We will close our doors after dinner service on Saturday 19th December and reopen them for dinner on Tuesday 5th January.

We hope you have a very merry Christmas and look forward to welcoming you in 2016.
